Summary
Samuel is a member of the 104th Trainees Squad. He makes his debut in Chapter 3, titled "The Night Of The Disbanding," which corresponds to Episode 3 of the anime, "Shining Dimly in the Midst of Despair." When the Colossal Titan appears outside Trost District, the resulting burst of steam knocks several trainees off the Wall. Although most are able to activate their Three Dimensional Maneuver Gear and anchor themselves to the structure, Samuel is struck in the head by falling debris and becomes stunned. Sasha saves him from plummeting to his death by firing a grappling hook into his leg. Eren orders Sasha to take Samuel to safety, while instructing the remaining trainees to attack the Colossal Titan. Samuel is not seen again after this incident, leaving his fate unknown.
