Born on December 20 with blood type A, Yutaka Kobayakawa resides in Satte, Saitama Prefecture. She is characterized as a cheerful and positive individual, though she can be somewhat forgetful. Academically, she excels in Japanese while disliking Physical Education. Her hair is salmon pink, styled in small pig tails often adorned with a ribbon, and she has green eyes. Standing shorter and more petite than her cousin Konata due to her indoor lifestyle and weak constitution, Yutaka is deeply concerned about her height and physical development, though she finds little comfort in the fact that Konata has not developed either. Because her health makes commuting difficult and she is prone to illness, she moved in with Konata’s family. Upon Konata’s promotion to third year, Yutaka enrolled at Ryouou Gakuen High School as a first-year student in Class 1-D alongside Minami. On her first day, she ran for class president and is affectionately called "Yu-chan" by Konata and Soujirou. She is the younger sister of Yui. Yutaka first appeared in Shounen Ace before moving to Comptiq. In the anime, she is voiced by Shizuka Hasegawa, while Ai Shimizu provided her voice for the drama CD and video game adaptations.
