Summary
Yoshiyuki Arai serves as the original homeroom teacher for Sawako’s class. Although he shares a surname with Pin, the two are not related. To differentiate him from Pin, he is referred to as "Zen," which is an alternative reading of the kanji used in the name "Yoshi." Arai appears to be frightened of Sawako and the persistent rumors labeling her as "Sadako." Due to his frail health, students often mistakenly believe that Sawako has cursed him. Additionally, it is revealed that Arai is a newlywed.
