Summary
Claire, also known as Laurent, is Celia’s father, a man in his forties who played a crucial role in assisting Flora and Hugenot’s faction in their escape from the royal capital. He facilitated communication between the Fontaine and Hugenot factions, enabling them to collaborate in restoring the king’s legitimate power. The Arbor faction, threatening to destroy his home and accuse him of treason unless he complied, forced him to act as a spy to identify other nobles in the Fontaine faction who were in contact with the Restoration. To ensure his cooperation, they made him give Celia in marriage to Charles, using her as a hostage. After Celia escaped, he aided Christina in fleeing the capital following her return from an evening party. However, Charles grew suspicious, prompting Claire to rely on Rio, who arrived at a timely moment to help take Christina to Rodania.
