Summary
Date Seiji, referred to as Sage Date in English adaptations, is a Ronin Warrior known for his mature and aloof demeanor. He originates from a traditional family where women hold authority, including his parents, grandparents, and sisters Yayoi and Satsuki. In the CD drama Korinden, he questions his role as a Ronin Warrior. During the OVA Gaiden, Shikaisen and the Mad Scientist used his Halo Armor to kill in New York, including Runa's brother. Sage wields the Korin Halo Armor, associated with the Virtue of Chi and light. He fights with a nodachi and uses the Thunderbolt Cut, or Rai Ko Zan, which gathers energy for slashing or thrusting attacks. He was vice-president and then president of his high school Kendo club. After missing the tournament due to the Talpa battle, Shingo won and wrote to Sage about his appearance. Rowen and Kento interpreted this as a request to cut his hair and chased him with scissors, unaware the letter suggested his intimidating look helped his victories. His name derives from the historical samurai Date Masamune.
