Summary
Noboru Yoshikawa is a student at Holy Forest Academy who suffered severe bullying, primarily from Uehara Anko and her clique, before Eikichi Onizuka arrived. He is an otaku with exceptional video game skills and a talent for crafting items. The harassment drives him to attempt suicide twice by jumping from the school roof, but Onizuka intervenes both times, destroying Vice-Principal Hiroshi Uchiyamada’s car in the process. This leads to a close bond, with Noboru allowing Onizuka to borrow his possessions and demonstrating fierce loyalty by selling his game collection to help pay off Onizuka’s debts. During the Okinawa school trip, Onizuka assigns Noboru to room with Anko. After being tied up and abandoned in the jungle by the girls as revenge for their antics, Noboru helps the group navigate the woods. He saves Anko’s life after she falls off a cliff, and as the story progresses, they develop a mutual affection.
