Summary
Ruri Gokou, who operates online under the alias Kuroneko, meaning Black Cat, is a participant in the All Together, Otaku Girls community managed by Saori. She attends an offline gathering where she finally meets Saori and Kirino in person. Much like Kirino, Kuroneko maintains a distant demeanor during this initial encounter, and her formal introduction does not occur until after the event concludes at Saori’s place. Her preferences lean heavily toward teenage fantasy anime, and she holds a strong disdain for cute series such as Meruru. This clash of tastes frequently sparks arguments between her and Kirino, yet the two manage to sustain their friendship despite these ideological differences. Although she treats those from the mortal world with coldness, Kuroneko deeply values her friends. Visually, Kuroneko is defined by her dark attire and scarlet eyes, which she adopts while cosplaying in gothic lolita fashion inspired by her favorite anime, Maschera ~Lamentation of the Fallen~. It is later revealed that her scarlet eyes are merely the result of contact lenses, as her natural iris color is lavender. She is a prolific writer of doujinshi and novels, though her works fail to gain popularity. This lack of success stems from her high intelligence and extensive vocabulary, which render her writing too sophisticated for the average reader to enjoy.
