Smoker, also known as the White Hunter, is a high-ranking Marine officer. At the time of his introduction in Loguetown, he was thirty-four years old, and later thirty-six, with a birthday on March 14. He holds the title of Vice Admiral, having previously served as a Commodore and Captain. He wields the powers of the Moku Moku no Mi, also called the Plume-Plume or Smoke-Smoke Fruit. Physically, Smoker is a muscular man with white hair. He is instantly recognizable by the two cigars he smokes simultaneously. His attire consists of a thick white and blue specialist Marine jacket worn open, featuring a greenish fur lining around the neck, wrists, and hem. The back of his jacket displays the kanji for "justice," and numerous cigars are strapped to the garment. He is armed with a jutte tipped with Seastone and wears brown leather gloves, blue jeans with a brown belt, and large military-issue brown leather boots. Smoker is a tough and stern Marine who maintains a businesslike demeanor. Unlike many of his peers in One Piece, he rejects the rule of Absolute Justice in favor of his own personal code, a philosophy he later teaches to Tashigi. Despite his hardened exterior, he possesses a softer side and shares strong friendships with fellow Marine Captain Hina and former Navy Admiral Kuzan. Following the timeskip, Smoker was promoted to Vice Admiral and assigned to the G-5 base in the New World. During this period, he became more robust and acquired a scar on his face.
