Summary
Kayama serves as the shortstop for the prefab team of the Seishū baseball club, holding the status of a senpai to Kō. His brief tenure with the first-string team ends abruptly after he suffers from food poisoning caused by consuming an excessive amount of okonomiyaki for breakfast, forcing him to be relieved during their initial practice match. He officially retires from the team following that first practice game against the first-string squad.
