Summary
Kaou, also known as the Flower Emperor, is a formidable demon that sustains itself by consuming the grief of others, discarding their hollowed-out bodies into the earth afterward. He appears as a nobleman with disheveled dark hair and is frequently seen holding a fan. His magical abilities are potent enough to enchant an entire village at once. Kaou maintains a facade of kindness and compassion, a demeanor that facilitates the trance induced by his flowers. Inuyasha’s group crossed paths with him shortly after Kikyou’s passing. He successfully trapped Inuyasha in a hypnotic state, allowing the half-demon to pour out his anguish over Kikyou’s death. However, Kaou met his end when an enraged Inuyasha destroyed him for exploiting his emotional pain as a source of nourishment.
