Summary
Nail is a Namekian who bears a striking resemblance to Piccolo, distinguished only by his attire. Recognized as the sole remaining Namekian of the fighter class, he serves as the personal bodyguard to Guru and possesses considerable strength for his kind. During the Captain Ginyu Saga, Nail confronts Frieza to prevent the tyrant from killing Guru and seizing the Dragon Balls. Despite Frieza being at his weakest power level of 530,000, Nail is no match for him and loses an arm during the combat, though he utilizes Regeneration to heal the injury. Before Frieza can deliver the final blow, Nail reveals that his resistance was a strategic delay, allowing Dende to retrieve the password for the Namekian Dragon Balls from the Earthlings, Gohan and Krillin. Enraged by this revelation, Frieza leaves him for dead. Shortly after, a newly resurrected Piccolo discovers the incapacitated Namekian. Nail asks Piccolo to fuse with him to boost their odds against Frieza and save his own life. After questioning Nail’s motives, Piccolo agrees to the fusion, resulting in a dramatic power increase that makes the combined entity more than capable of defeating Frieza in his second form.
