Summary
Cuba, representing the Republic of Cuba with Havana as its capital, is a heavyset man of unknown age and height who speaks in a Kawachi dialect. He is characterized by his good humor, strong emotions, and a distinctive appearance featuring dark hair tied back into dreadlocks, bright Hawaiian-style shirts, shorts, and sandals. His birthday is May 20th, and his national flower is the Ginger Lily. Cuba has a deep love for ice cream and smoking Cuban cigars, but he harbors a strong hatred for America. This animosity is so severe that he frequently mistakes Canada for America and beats him up, although the two remain on good terms. In the movie Ginmaku Hetalia Axis Powers: Paint it, White, Cuba and Canada were shown working together to provide aid to people affected by the Pict. While his official human name has not been decided, creator Hidekaz Himaruya revealed in a blog post that he has considered names such as Carlos, Ericemdo, Jajuan, and Máximo, with Machado as a possible surname.
