Summary
Akimi, a former middle school classmate of Kyosuke, had withdrawn from school for a significant period. Kyosuke eventually persuaded her to return, going so far as to forge her parents' signatures to include her on a field trip. The outing ended in tragedy when Akimi fell from a tree in a restricted area, sustaining injuries that led her parents to transfer her to a different school and ban all contact with Kyosuke. This traumatic separation is cited as the primary catalyst for Kyosuke's subsequent personality shift. Three years later, Akimi located Kyosuke and confessed her feelings, only to be rejected.
