Summary
Mikako is a junior high school girl deeply in love with Terao Noboru, yet she is selected to participate in a space expedition. Despite the perils of her journey, she consistently sends text messages to Noboru, even when facing dangerous situations. As she travels increasingly far from Earth, the distance causes a significant delay in communication; her messages take eight, nine, or even ten years to reach him. During this long separation, Mikako finds herself missing both Earth and Noboru intensely.
