Yotarou

Summary

Yotaro is a seemingly frail child with dark blue eyes. While the manga depicts him with blond hair, the anime portrays him with brown locks. He first appeared in Volume 14 of the manga and Episode 75, titled "Step Outside!" in the anime series. His primary rival or opponent is Onna-Ranma. Initially, Yotaro appears to be a sickly boy who is unable to go outside, despite his mother’s persistent efforts to encourage him. He spends his days in bed, refusing to engage in any physical activity, though he harbors a specific desire to own a panda. His wish is granted when his mother discovers a wandering Genma in panda form and brings him home. Although Genma is initially hesitant, he decides to remain in panda form and lounge around the household after realizing how well he is treated, particularly regarding the food. Ranma, worried about Genma’s whereabouts, eventually locates him at the house. In her female form, she enters and is disgusted by the laziness exhibited by both Genma and Yotaro. After failing to take Genma back by force, Ranma attempts subtler tactics, trying to tempt Yotaro into going outside. Through this process, she discovers that Yotaro is not actually sickly but is simply lazy and unwilling to leave the house. The situation escalates when Ranma forcibly kidnaps Genma-panda, prompting Yotaro to go outside and chase Ranma all day back to the Tendo dojo. It becomes clear that Yotaro’s illness was a ruse to cover his reluctance to go outside. In reality, he is a very energetic boy who is not willing to give up what he has easily.
