Summary
Ryner, a protagonist often mistaken for lethargic and unmotivated, possesses brown hair and eyes along with a slender physique. Despite his demeanor, he is naturally gifted in magic, hand-to-hand combat, assassination techniques, ancient lore, and languages. He is the bearer of Alpha Stigma, an ocular ability that allows him to analyze various forms of magic, marked by a reddish pentagram appearing over his pupils when activated. In a world where magic varies by nation and is closely guarded, Ryner has acquired spells from different countries through battles with their mages. While Alpha Stigma bearers are typically the weakest of the five "Cursed Eyes" and rarely survive to adulthood due to going berserk, Ryner’s eyes are exceptional. He keeps others at a distance to protect them from the dangers of his condition, a trait reinforced by the sacrifice of his first love. Although he was reluctant to love again, he formed a deep bond with Ferris, a swordswoman, and developed strong feelings for her. Ryner embarks on a quest across the continent of Menoris with Ferris, sent by his friend and the new King of Roland, Sion. Their goal is to find the "Relics of Heroes," later identified as "Rule Fragment" and "Rule Phajeel," driven by Ryner’s research vision of creating a world without war. After returning, Ryner discovers a dark power consuming Sion from within and uncovers a conspiracy across Roland and neighboring lands. Following a betrayal, he escapes with Ferris, joining the Anti-Roland Coalition with the hope of saving his friend.
