Summary
Raoul is an anime-exclusive figure who runs a bar in Loguetown named Gold Roger. During his younger years, he was acquainted with Gol D. Roger, who frequented the establishment and shared his ambition to conquer the Grand Line. Before departing for the Grand Line with his crew, Roger visited Raoul’s bar, where the proprietor attempted to dissuade him by highlighting the perils ahead, though Roger remained undeterred and enthusiastic. Later, during the tenure of Smoker as the commanding officer of the Marines stationed in Loguetown, the bar saw no pirate patrons, leaving Smoker as its sole customer. When Luffy happened to stop by, Raoul recounted Roger’s legendary exploits to him. He was visibly stunned when Luffy declared his intention to become the next Pirate King, observing that the boy possessed a presence reminiscent of Roger. Following Luffy’s departure, Smoker arrived for a drink, much to Raoul’s displeasure.
