Known as "Mole Hunter" Joe Buttataki, this character debuts at the conclusion of chapter thirty-seven of the manga when summoned to Shibusen to investigate a potential spy. His name translates literally to "kick the shit out of," a phrase he utters in that same chapter. He demonstrates the ability to detect a snake placed within Marie's body. Joe was previously in a relationship with Marie Mjolnir but had maintained distance to prevent his "soul perception" from becoming powerful enough to see through her. He later expressed regret over his decision and asked her to dinner. He views his power as unpleasant because it forces him to work in a role defined by mistrusting his allies. Notably, he is the first technician capable of piercing a witch's technique to appear human, and his strength continues to grow.
