Summary
Jouichirou Nishi made his debut in the manga’s first chapter and the anime’s Season 1 premiere. He is a seasoned veteran of the Gantz world, having been pulled into it more than a year prior to the main narrative. His arrival occurred after he fled onto an apartment rooftop while escaping police for shoplifting, ultimately resulting in a fatal fall. Like Kurono, Nishi begins as a selfish individual with a Social Darwinist worldview. He is secretive about the Gantz and his own background, yet he operates a website where he shares related information, carefully navigating the deadly rule against exposing the system to outsiders. Despite Gantz addressing him as "Mr. Nishi," Nishi typically treats other participants with informality or derision.
