Benn, Beckman
Summary
Beckman is a towering figure, standing at least a foot taller than Shanks. While he sported jet-black hair tied in a ponytail twelve years ago in Monkey D. Luffy's hometown, his hair has since turned gray and been cut short. He is almost never seen without a cigarette in his mouth or his rifle nearby, and he now bears a large X-shaped scar on his left temple. Unlike the more boisterous members of the crew, Beckman appears far more relaxed and level-headed. Alongside Lucky Roo and Yasopp, he is one of Shanks's most trusted subordinates, consistently appearing alongside the Red Hair Pirates during pivotal moments. Author Oda has stated that Beckman possesses the highest IQ among all characters introduced in the East Blue saga. As the first mate to a Yonko, he is presumed to be incredibly strong. This was demonstrated during the Battle of Marineford, where Admiral Kizaru refrained from engaging him immediately after Beckman had just battled the First Commander of Whitebeard's crew and Whitebeard himself. However, Kizaru resumed his attack on Luffy once Beckman moved to rejoin the rest of the crew.
