Summary
Buyo is Kagome Higurashi's pet cat, characterized by his overweight build and extreme laziness. Despite his mundane appearance, he is the catalyst for Kagome's journey to the Feudal Era, initiating her adventures with InuYasha and the group. The incident began when Buyo fell into the well at the Higurashi Shrine. Since Kagome's younger brother Sota was too frightened to retrieve him, Kagome descended into the well herself. After finding Buyo, a demon named Mistress Centipede residing within the well detected the Shikon Jewel inside Kagome. She seized Kagome and dragged her down to InuYasha's era, hoping to steal the jewel. InuYasha maintains a surprisingly good relationship with Buyo, often playing with the cat when he travels to Kagome's time period.
