Erin serves as the central protagonist of the narrative. Characterized by her serene demeanor and sharp observational skills, she is portrayed as a deeply empathetic individual who prioritizes the well-being of others above her own. Her upbringing under the guidance of her mother, Soyon, and her foster father, John, instilled in her a distinctive approach to caring for beasts. While her intense curiosity often leads to trouble, her genuine concern for both people and animals defines her compassionate nature. Physically, Erin inherited her green hair and eyes from her mother, who belonged to the Mist People. Initially, other characters assumed her close bond with Lilan and Eku stemmed from magical techniques learned from her mother. However, as the story progresses, they come to realize that her connection is rooted in a sincere desire to truly understand animals rather than any mystical influence.
