Summary
Cye Mouri, known as Shin Mōri in Japan, serves as the eldest member of the Ronin Warriors and is typically characterized by his calm demeanor. In the English dub, he speaks with an Australian accent. His background mirrors that of the other Ronins; his father passed away during his childhood, his mother is a renowned potter who suffers from frequent illness, and he has an older sister named Sayoko, whom he initially disliked due to her husband. Despite these family dynamics, he views the Ronins, Mia, Yuli, and Kento as his true family, with Kento being his best friend. Cye wields the Torrent armor, referred to as Suikō in YST, and embodies the Virtue of Shin, which translates to Faith or Trust. His primary weapon is a trident with retractable prongs that allow him to grapple distant foes or sever obstacles. Although the armor includes a tantō dagger and a claw-like attachment on the gauntlet, he has never utilized them. His elemental affinity is water, and his surekill technique, known as Super Wave Smasher or Chou Ryu Ha in YST, unleashes a devastating burst of water. His principal adversary is Sekhmet, the Dark Warlord of Venom. However, in the Suikoden drama CD, he faces Toryuki, an Earth-bound demon with powers comparable to his own. Cye is voiced by Michael Donovan in the English adaptation, who also provides the voice for Sage Date. In the third OVA titled Message, Cye acquires a new armor suit and enhanced abilities, though the full scope of these upgrades remains unspecified. Like Ryo and Sage, his surname likely derives from the historical Japanese daimyo Mouri Motonari.
