Hihara, Kazuki
Summary
Kazuki Hihara is a third-year student in the Music Department at Seiso Academy, specifically in Class B. Born on December 12, making him a Sagittarius, he stands 178cm tall and has Type B blood. He is voiced by Masakazu Morita and appears in the first episode of the anime and the first chapter of the manga. Kazuki plays the trumpet and was formerly a sprinter in track, a habit that keeps him in shape as he runs every morning. He is the son of his mother and father, with an older brother named Haruki. Kazuki is an incredibly upbeat, cheerful, and outgoing person who smiles frequently and encourages those around him. He can be talkative, often speaking without realizing it, and lacks strong social boundaries, which can come across as aggressive friendliness. He is a good friend of Azuma Yunoki and never missed a day of school during elementary or middle school. He has a massive appetite, constantly snacking on baked goods, and enjoys basketball. His dynamic with Hino Kahoko is central to his character arc. He quickly befriends her, helping her discover the true, joyful meaning of music, which allows her to love and enjoy it more deeply. Initially, he viewed the music competition merely as a festive way to enjoy music, acting as a supportive senpai until he realized that his kouhai had taught him many things instead. This shift leads him to want to win for the first time, driven by his growing concern for Kahoko’s true feelings. He begins calling her "Kaho-chan," signaling his obvious crush, a fact he admits to Azuma while telling him not to make fun of him. His dream is to pamper his girlfriend, believing that such behavior constitutes a man's romance.
