Summary
Iou (Iō) serves as a medical-nin within Konohagakure. He was deployed to the Logistic Support and Medical Division during the Fourth Shinobi World War. When the war escalated and casualty numbers surged, a critical incident occurred where the KIA scroll, which contained the bodies of shinobi possessing kekkei genkai and other unique abilities, was stolen. In response, Sukui assigned Iou to a retrieval team consisting of Yokaze, Sakura Haruno, and Yugao Uzuki. Upon locating the antagonists, Iou engaged in combat alongside his teammates, successfully helping to seal both the Suna and Kumo-nin involved. His subsequent confrontation with Hayate Gekkou resulted in severe injuries. After receiving treatment from Sakura, Iou was incapacitated and unable to continue the mission, leaving his comrades to handle the final sealing of Hayate. The operation concluded with the successful sealing of all three targeted shinobi. His anime debut occurred in Naruto Shippuuden Episode 307.
