Takada, Taiyou
Summary
Relocating from a rural area, Taiyou Takada joins the class as a new student. Upon learning that Nishimura carries the nickname "Grim Reaper," he instantly becomes fascinated by her and actively seeks to befriend her. He views her with total admiration, remaining completely unaware of the bullying attempts directed at her by his peers. While his unwavering optimism appears to be the inspiration for the series' title, he is not entirely oblivious. He occasionally pieces together the possibility that his words may have hurt Nishimura, although these instances typically stem from his own misunderstandings.
