Uchiha, Madara

Summary

Madara Uchiha is a legendary ninja who served as the leader of the Uchiha clan before and after the establishment of Konohagakure. He made his manga debut in Chapter 370 and appeared in the anime in Naruto Shippūden Episode 130. Classified as a Missing-nin, he is one of the co-founders of the village and holds the distinction of being its first major political rival. Prior to the era of ninja villages, Madara and his younger brother, Izuna, were renowned as the most talented members of their clan. Madara possessed an exceptionally potent chakra reserve, even by Uchiha standards. He and Izuna engaged in constant competition and training, a rivalry that drove each to awaken their Mangekyō Sharingan. Leveraging this power, the brothers seized control of the clan, with Madara at the helm, leading the Uchiha to a period of military dominance. However, the excessive use of their ocular jutsu eventually blinded Madara. To restore his vision and maintain his power, he harvested the eyes of his deceased brother, Izuna, granting him an "eternal" Mangekyō Sharingan that allowed the clan to flourish once more. The Uchiha clan was locked in perpetual conflict with the equally formidable Senju clan, establishing a deep-seated rivalry between Madara and Hashirama Senju, the Senju leader. Exhausted by the endless warfare, Hashirama proposed a peace treaty. Although Madara opposed any alliance with the Senju, the rest of the Uchiha desired an end to the bloodshed, forcing Madara to comply. Consequently, the Senju, Uchiha, and various conquered clans united to create Konohagakure. Despite the formation of the village, tensions remained. When the villagers chose Hashirama as the first Hokage, Madara was deeply resentful. Fearing that Hashirama would marginalize the Uchiha, Madara attempted to incite a rebellion against the new leadership. Instead of supporting him, the clan turned away from Madara, viewing his actions as an attempt to restart the war. Following his political failure and abandonment by his people, Madara defected from the village. He sought out the Nine-Tails to aid him in a final confrontation with Hashirama. The two clashed at the Valley of the End, where Madara was ultimately defeated and killed, with the Nine-Tails being stripped from his control.
