Summary
Kirie Goshima is a schoolgirl living in Kurouzu-cho who grows worried about her best friend Shuichi Saito’s father. He has become obsessed with collecting and staring at spiral patterns, ignoring everything else. After he commits suicide inside a washing machine, his cremated remains form a giant cloud hanging over the town. The obsessive behavior begins spreading to Kirie’s father and others, while residents around the town undergo bodily mutations into spiral creatures.
