Summary
Shigure, known as the Osteopath, is a demon surgeon who performs the procedure of implanting the Jagan eye into Hiei. Rather than accepting currency, Shigure demands unusual payments for his services, such as an interesting story or a binding promise. Following the eye implantation, he trains Hiei in swordsmanship and warns him that other demons will seek to find and kill him once they discover his weakened state. Before Hiei departs, Shigure extracts a promise from him to never reveal to Yukina that she is his sister, a secret Hiei intends to keep regardless. Shigure later competes against Hiei for the 76th spot out of 76 positions under Mukuro's direct command. Although his head is sliced in two, Mukuro manages to save his life. He subsequently fights Kurama in the Makai tournament, resulting in his defeat.
