Summary
Jima is one of two government persocoms tasked with locating Chii. While the government fears that Chii’s final program will destroy the person-recognition abilities of all persocoms globally, Jima holds a different view. He believes the program may not activate when Chii finds her person and genuinely desires for her to find happiness. To protect her, he deceives Dita about Chii’s location and delays action until he intervenes to stop her. In the manga, he physically restrains Dita from attacking Chii. Jima also serves as the Japanese government’s national data bank, becoming the target of a hacking attempt by Yuzuki to retrieve information on Chii. The anime reveals that Jima and Dita were created from the same base system as Chii, granting them immunity to her immobilization ability.
