Born on May 19, Tsubaki Sawabe serves as Kousei's childhood friend who has consistently attended his performances to offer her support. Although she frequently invited Kousei to go outside, these attempts often failed because of his rigorous practice schedule with his mother. Over time, Tsubaki assumed the role of an older sister figure, viewing Kousei as a helpless younger brother whom she felt compelled to look after. Unlike the musical Kousei, she possessed an athletic nature, participating in the softball team during both middle and high school. She played alongside her middle school senpai and genuinely enjoyed the sport.
