Summary
Marie Mjolnir serves as the death scythe responsible for the Oceania region. Her weapon form varies significantly between adaptations. In the manga, she manifests as a small black hammer that can shift into a tonfa, with the tonfa’s length expanding in proportion to the wielder’s soul wavelength (ch. 61). Conversely, the anime depicts her default weapon as a large gray tonfa (ep. 45). She wears an eyepatch over her left eye, which features a lightning-bolt symbol that also appears on her weapon. Marie is carefree and absent-minded, often losing her way in the DWMA basement due to a poor sense of direction (ch. 24). She is deeply lovelorn, having endured a series of failed romances with men like Joe Buttataki, and desperately desires to marry. She selected her post in Oceania specifically for its light workload, hoping it would give her the time to find a husband and settle down. Stein was previously her crush, and she appears to still harbor feelings for him.
