Summary
Isaak von Kämpfer, also known as Panzer Magier, is an inventor within the Rosenkreuz Orden and the creator of Cain’s current body, which had suffered permanent damage from Seth and Abel nine centuries ago. Despite his exceptional talents, he remains a mysterious figure who has adopted numerous aliases, such as Isaac Butler, during his time studying at London University. His past is marred by an incident that resulted in the death of William’s fiancé and the subsequent expulsion of both students. Since joining forces with Cain, Isaak has overseen his regeneration and co-led the Orden, though his true motives remain unclear. He favors quoting literature and smoking cigarillos, generally preferring to orchestrate events from the shadows rather than appear in public. When he does engage in combat, he demonstrates formidable prowess and proves difficult to defeat. Isaak is highly skilled in utilizing Lost Technologies. His offensive capabilities include the Arrow of Belial, a technique that fires a massive sphere of light containing multiple energy bolts at his target. For defense, he can generate the Shield of Asmoday, an almost impenetrable electromagnetic barrier that protects his body from nearly any attack. He also creates artificial demons to assist in battle, specifically two types: Schatten Kobolds, which resemble small devils and hide within the shadows of Kämpfer, and knomes, monstrous worm-like creatures capable of burrowing through the ground at high speeds, with the latter appearing only in the novels. Additionally, his hair, composed of thin mono-carbon fibers, is strong enough to slice through diamond, serving as an unexpected weapon. In the novels, Dietrich von Lohengrin is identified as Isaak’s student, likely gaining the knowledge to create the Death Hunters under his guidance. Isaak’s final appearance shows him piloting the Orden’s airship during an assault on the city of Londinium in Albion. The vessel is destroyed through the joint efforts of the Church and the Kingdom of Albion, leading to the presumption that he perished in the explosion.
