Summary
Kenji Kobayakawa is a dedicated sprinter on the track team, supported by an athletic scholarship. While he possesses considerable talent, he cannot match Yamato’s speed in the 100 meters. His resentment toward Yamato stems from both this athletic deficit and the fact that Honoka, the girl he is interested in, initially focused her attention solely on Yamato. Similar to Yamato, Kenji received university scouting offers during his final year of high school. When Yamato and Suzuka announced their departure from Seijo University, Kenji stood alone among his peers in expressing distress over their choices. A recurring running joke suggests that he is either cropped out or barely visible in every photograph he appears in. Ultimately, Kenji and Arima go on to represent Japan in the 100m and 200m events, respectively.
