Summary
Suigintou stands as the inaugural doll within the Rozen Maiden collection. Her ambition to claim victory in the Alice Game surpasses that of all other dolls, fueled primarily by a desperate need to capture the attention of "Father," Rozen. Characterized by sadism, spite, and arrogance stemming from a profound superiority complex, she lacks any moral inhibitions regarding the competition. Suigintou employs any tactic necessary, no matter how brutal, to secure her win. While she typically shuns social interaction with her fellow dolls, she harbors an intense, almost obsessive hatred for Shinku, tracking the exact duration since their last encounter. Her dynamic shifts significantly upon meeting her medium, Megu. Developing a deep affection for Megu, Suigintou’s desire to protect her begins to outweigh her longing to meet "Father." She intends to utilize the gathered Rosa Mystica to cure Megu’s heart condition rather than pursuing the title of Alice. Among the seven Rozen Maiden dolls, Suigintou possesses distinct physical anomalies. In the first anime series, she appears without a torso. Shinku notes that her design was erased before she was fully completed, though the reason remains unknown. After being destroyed by Shinku in battle, Suigintou is mysteriously restored midway through Rozen Maiden Träumend, with the identity of her restorer left a secret. In the Träumend finale, she reveals that "Father" assured her she was entitled to participate in the Alice Game despite her flawed body. Later, Rozen is seen gently repairing her neck ribbon and holding her waist while she is unconscious, implying he has finally mended her incomplete form. Alongside her artificial spirit, Meimei, Suigintou wields ragged black wings as her primary weapons. These wings feature arrow-like feathers that allow her to summon a shield, a massive sword, or twin black dragons. As a last resort, she can generate destructive blue flames. The versatility of her abilities, combined with her cunning nature, establishes her as a formidable competitor in the Alice Game. Her medium is absent during the first season but is later revealed to be Megu in the second season. The name Suigintou translates to "Mercury Lamp."
