Summary
Shuichi Shirato stands out as the wealthiest and most arrogant student in Nube's class, owing his status to his parents, who own one of the premier restaurants in Doumori. He frequently mocks Nube’s personal preferences, particularly regarding food and his lack of material wealth. Although his superior attitude often irritates their teacher, Nube repeatedly steps in to aid Shuichi whenever he encounters danger from youkai. Deviating from his peers, Shuichi is fascinated by scientific explanations for the supernatural, such as aliens and cryptozoology, attempting to prove that entities other than youkai exist, yet he consistently ends up relying on Nube for help. Despite his snobbish demeanor, Shuichi is not inherently malicious; he harbors a deep love for animals, demonstrated when he was willing to sacrifice his own life to stop a youkai that was once a puppy.
