Hoshigaki, Kisame

Summary

Kisame Hoshigaki is a missing-nin from Kirigakure who joined the Akatsuki, wearing the Nan ring on his left hand. He was partnered with Uchiha Itachi, with whom he shared an unusually harmonious relationship, often obeying Itachi’s commands and looking out for his partner’s safety. Once a loyal member of Kirigakure, Kisame was one of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, a elite group known for wielding massive weapons. He is sought after by his former homeland for attempted coup d'états and numerous assassinations. His signature weapon is Samehada, a sentient, scale-covered sword that shaves skin to absorb chakra rather than cutting. The blade rejects anyone other than Kisame, sprouting spikes to return to him if touched by others. True to the brutal reputation of the Seven Swordsmen, Kisame delights in maiming his foes, once suggesting amputating Naruto Uzumaki’s legs to facilitate capture. Physically, Kisame resembles a shark, featuring pale blue skin, gill-like facial structures, small white eyes, and sharp triangular teeth. His name translates to "demon shark," reflecting his combat style, which involves molding water into shark-shaped constructs to attack enemies. If water is unavailable, he can generate vast quantities of it using Water Release: Exploding Water Shockwave. Kisame possesses an enormous chakra reserve, with his power at just thirty percent capacity being comparable to that of a Nine-Tailed Demon Fox-enhanced Naruto Uzumaki.
