Sahl, Lilith
Summary
As the prototype for Cain, Abel, and Seth, Lilith was the fourth test tube baby produced by United Nations Scientists for the Mars Colonization Project. Serving as the head of the Health Care sector, she typically acted as the voice of reason amidst conflicts between the Nightroad siblings. When the war erupted, Lilith allied with humanity and the Vatican to protect them from the Methuselah, whereas the three Nightroad siblings joined the Methuselah ranks. During this time, she attempted to convince Abel that his hatred for humans was misguided. Near the end of the conflict, Cain deceived her into a meeting under the guise of peace and murdered her. Abel retrieved her body and brought it to the Vatican, where it rests encased in glass within an underground tomb in Rome. Abel spent the next 900 years mourning her death in the tomb until he rescued a young Caterina from vampires, a event that inspired him to protect humans in Lilith's memory. In the anime series, Lilith's Crusnik nanomachines are utilized to revive Abel from a death-like state, while in the novels, Cain absorbs the nanomachines from Crusnik O4.
