Summary
Sealed within Killer B of Kumogakure after a long line of failed predecessors, including his cousin, uncle, and father, the Eight-Tails is a tailed beast distinguished by its unique dynamic with its jinchūriki. As one of the few vessels to fully master their tailed beast, B shares a remarkably relaxed bond with the Eight-Tails. Unlike the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, which is typically hostile and requires severe restraint to communicate with, the Eight-Tails converses casually with B, even allowing him to sit on its nose. This easygoing nature is often tested by B’s tendency to goof around, which comically irritates the beast, leading the Eight-Tails to bad-mouth or scold B for his lack of seriousness, such as when it criticized B for rapping during his battle with Kisame instead of focusing on the fight. Despite B’s playful demeanor, the Eight-Tails takes its responsibilities more seriously than its host and was once infamous for its wild, violent rampages under previous, less stable jinchūriki. While the Eight-Tails has changed significantly due to B’s influence, its primary instinct remains self-preservation. It was willing to break free to attack Kisame Hoshigaki, even when allies like Sabu and Ponta were nearby, and demonstrated sharp analytical skills by advising B on how to lure Kisame’s water away to free them. Although it admits to disliking the Nine-Tails, it insists this animosity should not stop B from helping Naruto control the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, revealing a benevolent side that has since led both B and the Eight-Tails to develop a fondness for Naruto. The beast also reprimands B’s perverted comments, such as bumping his head when he made inappropriate remarks about Yugito’s chakra receivers. Regarding its kin, the Eight-Tails recognizes that all tailed beasts possess individual emotions and personalities. It expresses disdain for the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox’s habit of ranking strength by tail count and is deeply angered by the sight of other beasts being forcibly controlled.
