Summary
Summoned by Jadeite to support the Dark Kingdom’s energy-gathering operations, Morga is a Youma tasked with draining energy from unsuspecting women. This character appears in the first act of the manga as well as the opening episode of the anime. Operating under Jadeite’s orders, Morga imprisoned Naru’s mother in the basement and assumed her identity to sell cursed jewelry at the store at heavily discounted prices. These items were designed to siphon energy from their wearers, and the attractive deals successfully drew in numerous female victims. Once the targets had been sufficiently drained, Morga reverted to her true form, a grotesque creature characterized by brown skin and unkempt brown hair. Her physiology grants her extreme flexibility, allowing her to rotate her neck entirely and extend her arms to extraordinary lengths. The deception unraveled when Naru realized the woman she knew was an impostor, prompting Morga to attack her directly. Upon witnessing Naru’s peril, Sailor Moon transformed for the first time and arrived just in time to rescue her friend. Morga then unleashed the energy-depleted women as mindless, zombie-like soldiers to assault Sailor Moon. Overwhelmed and unsure of how to fight back, Sailor Moon began to cry. This emotional outburst caused her red odango hair accessories to emit supersonic waves that weakened both Morga and her minions. Capitalizing on this vulnerability, the Sailor Senshi finished off the Youma using a tiara-based attack.
