Quarta, Xenovia
Summary
Xenovia Quarta, a Low-class Devil and Knight who was formerly human, is a reincarnated devil with a birthday on February 14th. Standing 166 cm tall and weighing 56 kg, she initially appears in Volume 3 alongside Irina, sent by the Church to recover three stolen Excalibur swords. They form a temporary alliance with Issei, Koneko, Yuuto, and Saji to retrieve the fragments, with the agreement that Yuuto would destroy one of them. During the battle against Freed Sellzen and Valper Galilei, Xenovia reveals herself as the wielder of Ex-Durandal, turning the tide by destroying the fused Excalibur and defeating Freed. After the conflict with Fallen Angel leader Kokabiel, she becomes a Devil under Rias upon learning of God's death. Her weapon repertoire includes Excalibur Destruction, Ascalon, and Ex-Durandal. Initially portrayed with a quiet and serious demeanor, Xenovia prioritizes her mission and avoids unnecessary involvement. Despite her faithfulness to the Church, her beliefs are flexible enough to accept help from a Dragon, such as receiving a free lunch after Irina squandered their money on a fake saint painting, and she values survival alongside mission completion. Post-Volume 3, she develops a close bond with Asia, apologizing for previously calling her a witch. Like Asia, her upbringing in the Church left her lacking common knowledge of normal life, exemplified by her bringing condoms to school. As a Knight, Xenovia possesses superhuman speed, which combined with Durandal's destructive power and holy aura, makes her a formidable fighter. She can channel Durandal's holy aura into other swords, such as Issei's Ascalon, which he lends her due to his poor swordsmanship and her inability to fully control Durandal.
