Summary
Nezu serves as a parliament member while simultaneously leading the terrorist resistance movement opposing the government. Acting as an undercover mole, he supplies the group with critical intelligence, such as the identification badges necessary to enter the military hospital. When Ryu informs him of Kaneda’s involvement in their schemes, Nezu characterizes Neo-Tokyo as a rotting, over-ripe fruit containing a new seed of hope. He is also observed at a Supreme Executive Council meeting, smirking at the Colonel’s frustration. In the manga, he appears to be the mentor of Kei and Ryu, claiming to be rescuing the nation from corrupt and ineffective bureaucrats. However, it becomes clear that Nezu is just as corrupt and his true goal is simply to seize power for himself.
