Known affectionately as Kazu, he is a childhood friend of Ikki who, despite being bullied by him in the past, is inspired to take up Aerial Troopers and join the Kogarasumaru team. Suffering from deep-seated inferiority complex, he constantly feels overshadowed by others, particularly Ikki’s natural talent. Later in life, he takes up running, which develops him into an exceptionally fast AT rider. His potential catches the eye of Spitfire, who identifies him as the next Flame King and bestows upon him the Flame Regalia before her death. Kazu only discovers the regalia’s existence while challenging to save the fallen from hell, which solidifies his desire to battle Ikki. Their ensuing fight ends in a draw, leaving Kazu satisfied that he has reached Ikki’s level. Through the advanced training program left in Spitfire’s ATs, he has mastered techniques like Afterburner and Aeon Clock’s Time Manipulation. He also recently copied the high-level trick Flame Lens, which creates illusions of himself and Agito to secure victory, a feat considered above special A-class for a tentative king without regalia. In his personal life, Kazu appears oblivious to Emily’s romantic feelings, though he occasionally shows her special care, such as retrieving her necklace from a river or comforting her after defeats. He serves as the moral compass regarding women, contrasting with the lecherous behavior of Onigiri and Ikki; for instance, he felt embarrassed while Ikki was envious when Onigiri tried to peek at Croissant Mask. He lives with his older sister, as his parents are overseas. His notable tricks include Super Stride IV "Sonic Boom," AFTER BURNER, which injects power into the wheel motor for supersonic takeoff, and TIME, which restricts movement by striking vital nerve points. He also utilizes the Grand Fang Fire Bird, combining Agito and Akito’s Bloody Blade Fang with his own Flame Road, and the illusion-based FLAME LENS.
