Summary
Ryousuke Kira is a seventeen-year-old forward standing 181 centimeters tall with white hair and brown eyes. He plays for the Matsukaze Kokuō High School football team and was selected for the Blue Lock Project alongside Yoichi Isagi. Physically imposing and muscular, he is regarded as a very handsome young man. Kira is fundamentally kind-hearted and staunchly believes in the power of team play. This conviction leads him to reject Jinpachi Ego’s philosophy of egoism, to the extent that it distorts his judgment. He prioritizes supporting his teammates during the nationals over the goal of becoming the world’s best striker. Kira remains delusional and in denial about the reasons for Japan’s football weakness, refusing to accept Ego’s valid arguments regarding the lack of egoism or the nation’s historical failure to win a World Cup. He even entered Blue Lock specifically to disprove Ego, a decision that ultimately hindered his performance as he focused more on winning the ideological argument than on securing victory. Beneath his good nature lies a volatile side. After failing the Admission Exam, Kira snapped, realizing his soccer career had ended abruptly. He ranted about being the most skilled player despite his loss and blamed competitors like Isagi and Meguru Bachira for his failure. This reaction highlighted his complete inability to acknowledge his own deficiencies and weaknesses.
