Summary

During the Chunin Exam, Shigure and his team encountered Gaara’s group. Driven by a desire to obtain their scroll, Shigure underestimated his opponents. He attempted to deploy his needle-spreading technique, but Gaara’s sand defense proved impenetrable. Taking advantage of the situation, Gaara trapped Shigure and his teammates using the Desert Coffin technique.
