Summary
Yuuta Takemoto is a 19-year-old second-year architecture student at an art college, hailing from Annaka city in Gunma-ken. Standing at 170 cm and weighing 57 kg, he resides in room 202 of an apartment complex shared with Mayama and Morita, alongside floormates Morita and Hasegawa. His path to art college was driven by a fondness for building things with his hands, a hobby he shared with his late father, though he remains uncertain about his future career goals. Takemoto possesses a mellow personality and falls deeply in love with Hagu shortly after their introduction. However, he keeps his feelings hidden for most of the series, struggling with the inability to act on them as freely as Morita does. This internal conflict leads him to adopt a supportive, brotherly role toward Hagu. He demonstrates this devotion by crafting sophisticated dollhouses for her upon request, maintaining a close bond while suppressing his romantic desires. His temperament is also shaped by his family history. After his father’s early death, he spent much of his childhood, including Christmas holidays, at the hospital where his mother works as a nurse. He initially felt uneasy around his mother’s outspoken new husband, whose personality contrasts sharply with his father’s, but he makes an effort to accept him as a capable caregiver. His mother’s remarriage and subsequent reassurance that he no longer needs to constantly care for her granted him the freedom to pursue his education, directly influencing his decision to enroll in art college. Towards the end of the narrative, Takemoto is forced to remain at the college for an additional year because a stomach ulcer prevented him from completing his graduation thesis.
