Summary
Kei is a young woman whom Kaneda encounters during his search for Tetsuo. She belongs to an anti-government organization that also includes Ryu and Nezu. While the manga depicts her as slightly older and more attractive than Kaneda, her narrative role extends beyond that of a mere romantic interest. Deeply loyal to the Resistance and Ryu, she is far more developed in the manga version. Kei is strong-willed and identifies Lady Miyako as an Esper, with Miyako helping her realize she serves as a conduit for Esper telepathy. She maintains a close bond with Chiyoko, a resilient fighter who protects and looks out for her.
