Yoshida, Hiroyuki

Summary

Hiroyuki, also known as Yuki, is a tall and attractive transgender woman who is in a relationship with her boyfriend, Shii. She developed an early interest in Yoshino, initially believing him to be a cisgender boy, and maintained a friendly rapport with him even after discovering his assigned sex at birth. Although Yuki identifies strong parallels with Shuuichi, she recognizes significant differences between their respective circumstances. During her upbringing, Shii was the sole friend who remained loyal to her while she faced teasing from other girls and bullying from boys who wanted her to change. Despite her aversion to cooking, Yuki operates a gay bar. She maintains a consistently positive demeanor and possesses a deep empathy for the struggles faced by Shuuichi and Yoshino, allowing her to offer valuable advice during their difficult moments. Her parents own a uniform store, but Yuki has not been on good terms with her family since her transition and has not visited her former home in a long time. In Takako Shimura’s short story collection Boku wa, Onna no ko, Yuki serves as the protagonist of the story "Hana." This narrative introduces her family, including her father, mother, brother, and sister-in-law, and reveals that she is a fan of Showa period actor Keiji Sata.
