Jink

Summary

Jink is the eldest son of Doyke, the former head of the Rulid Village guard. As the village captain, Doyke’s lineage placed Jink on a direct path to leadership. Upon turning ten in the spring, Jink undertook the Sacred Task of becoming a guard apprentice, a role from which he eventually succeeded his father as the new captain. Despite his family’s superior combat skills within the village, their arrogant demeanor made them widely disliked by the locals. In his youth, Jink led a gang and harbored a strong dislike for Eugeo, largely due to Jink’s romantic interest in Alice and Eugeo’s constant presence with her. This rivalry manifested in frequent bullying, including pranks such as concealing Eugeo’s shoes for an entire day, placing irritating insects in his food bag, and openly taunting him whenever he was near Alice.
