Namikaze, Menma
Summary
In the context of the Infinite Tsukuyomi dream experienced by Tenten, as depicted in episode 427, Menma Namikaze serves as a stark counterpart to Naruto Uzumaki. As a descendant of the Uzumaki clan, Menma’s life trajectory diverged significantly from Naruto’s; he never lost his parents and enjoyed a childhood filled with friendship. Notably, Kurama was safely transferred from Kushina Uzumaki to Menma, allowing him to retain his mother while eventually forming a bond with the tailed beast. After graduating from the Academy, Menma joined Team Kakashi alongside Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha, eventually achieving the rank of chūnin. Personality-wise, Menma aligns more closely with his father, contrasting with Naruto, who inherited his mother’s traits. He is calm, collected, and speaks only when necessary, displaying a maturity and seriousness that contrasts with Naruto’s childish cheerfulness. Possessing a sharp wit and keen insight, Menma carefully considers his actions before acting and quickly discerns the underlying nature of situations. This intelligence makes him the smartest in his graduating class and the de facto leader of his team. Like the real-world Sasuke, Menma is distant and shows little respect even to his parents. He remains uninterested in romance, dismissing the advances of both Sakura and Hinata by asking them to leave him alone. Despite his aloof demeanor, Menma is deeply loyal to his friends. He expressed concern over Tenten’s troubles and had been observing her for some time. When Tenten was framed for treason against the village, Menma worked diligently to clear her name. He is also capable of showing joy, evidenced by his open congratulations to Tenten after she helped him defeat Hanzō. Visually, Menma resembles Naruto but with distinct differences. His blond hair is longer and shaggier, with jaw-length bangs framing his face similar to his father’s style. He wears the same black and orange slim outfit as Naruto in Part II, accompanied by a long black headband for his forehead protector and black zori sandals that reach his ankles. He also wears black fingerless gloves. Instead of the Uzumaki symbol on the back of his jacket, Menma wears a design featuring a green circle with five smaller red circles inside— one in the center and four around the edges connected by two crossed lines, with two additional lined-up red circles above and below the green circle.
